December 17th, 2017: Our Community Solstice Celebration at 5pm

Please join us for our annual Solstice celebration. We will begin with a pagan solstice ritual and follow with a community potluck. Following our potluck we will sing carols and share stories, songs and words of wisdom. Please bring food to share and words or a song to contribute. January 7th, 2018: Art as a Spiritual Practice by Amanda Tarling

Spiritual practices help to sustain us throughout our lives. One way of expressing the spiritual is through art. While we are not all able to be “artists” every one of us is artistic – maybe in ways you wouldn’t realise. Come and join us for a lively, jovial and creative morning as we play with how we can channel our creativity in spiritual ways.

January 21st, 2018: Can Atheism and Spirituality Be Friends? By Reinie Heydemann

Reinie Heydemann will share some of her life stories from growing up as a faithful Lutheran, studying theology, being a minister and serving in a nursing home as a chaplain until she retired and instantly joined the Unitarians, which gave her the opportunity to develop spirituality as an atheist.

February 4th, 2018: Unitarian Singing Service with Barbara Slater

In our family-friendly sacred song circles, Barbara Slater teaches us chants from around the world, as well as a few simple songs from the Unitarian tradition. Any fan of Barbara’s Ubuntu song circles around the island are certainly welcome. All ages and abilities welcomed.

In her continuing series on “Spiritual practices for these times” Amanda will delve into bringing more awareness to our lives. As we contemplate The Torah’s invitation “to eat, be satisfied, and bless your God for the good earth.”
